ENGRAVING COURSES
For its own activities the School has three workshops for goldsmithery, stone setting, engraving and other practical work, three classrooms for design, gemmology and theoretical lessons, and a gallery for exhibitions of students' work. Are equipped exactly like manufacturing workshops: enough specific tools and machinery for all the students to work with, plus equipment for the lost-wax casting process (vacuumcast).
GEMOLOGY COURSES
For gemmology lessons the School has gemmology equipment (microscope, hydrostatic scales, refractometers, polariscopes etc.) plus a large, regularly updated store of stones to study.
The specialisation courses last between six months and two years. The School organises specialisation courses in the following subjects: goldsmithery/jewellery jewellery design stone setting
STONE SETTING COURSES
Setting courses include workshop sessions and theoretical/practical lessons in gemmology. The workshop sessions are designed to provide the student with the manual skills needed to mount gems in pieces prepared in advance by the goldsmith. |
